Ground floor units like ours have patios (lanai) with steps that go straight out to the grounds, cove, pool and BBQs. Upper level units require you to walk downstairs behind the building, so you have to walk all the way around the building to get out front. Easy access means less hassle, and access to BBQs is important when you’re carrying a tray of teriyaki kabobs and your favorite evening beverage!

Our unit is just steps away from Napili Bay, our favorite beach on Maui. The next bay north is world famous Kapalua Bay, a 10 minute walk up the street and named one of the Best Beaches in the US.

The Gazebo restaurant is on the point between Honokeana and Napili. Great breakfast with an unbeatable view – just be sure to get there early and be prepared to wait. We always think it’s worth it!
Snorkel Molokini

No trip to Maui is complete without snorkeling Molokini. Even veteran snorkelers are amazed at the clarity of the water and the array of fish you’ll find. But get the early boat! If the breeze picks up the afternoon boat may redirect to another location. It’s not bad, but it’s not Molokini. Ask the operators to make sure they’re headed to Molokini.

A trip to Hana is almost a rite of passage for visitors to Maui. The winding road is an experience itself, but the Seven Falls area is spectacular and well worth the drive.

Dolphins at play! Honokeana Cove has great snorkeling with turtles almost guaranteed. But if you want to venture out, there are several small bays and inlets north of Honokeana Cove that offer great snorkeling. One of our favorite is Honolua Bay, a few miles north. You’ll see cars parking by the side of the road, and it’s a tricky decent to the beach but worth it for the more intrepid.
